DIY High-Waisted Shorts

Over the last few years I have found myself loving the idea of taking something old and turning it in to something new and amazing. I get inspired a lot by the things around me like nature, magazines, youtube, and etc. It really gives me a chance to see how creative I can be.

Last month one of my friends from Washington DC was in Durham, NC visiting her father. Since I was only 4 hours away, I decided to come visit her. While I was there we took a trip to the thrift store. My goal was to find myself two pairs of jeans that I can turn into high waisted denim shorts. Luckily, I was able to find a pair of old mom jeans that fit good enough around my waist only for $3. The jeans were so unflattering and ugly but I knew that they could be turned into something special.

He's not thirsty for you

I must admit. I was a little late when it came to the slang word "thirsty". I kept seeing this word all over twitter and had no clue what it meant. One day I decided to use the good ole trusty google search to find out what the definition meant. According to UrbanDictionary.com, the top voted definitions of the slang term "thirsty" are:

Sally Hansens Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips review

I have been wanting to try Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips for a long time. In fact, I purchased a box back in February but never had a chance to use them. In June, I finally had some time to try them out and write a review.

I purchased my box of nail polish strips from Wal-mart. I can't remember the exact price because I bought them so long ago but they retail for $6.50 to $9 a box, depending where you buy them. At the time of purchase, there were not many pattern options to choose from but I was drawn to the words on a particular box. The nail polish strip that had my attention  was named Love Letter. Soon as I read the name of the nail polish strip I knew I had to purchase this print.

Outfit of the Day: July 23

I love putting simple pieces together and adding a bit of flare to take an outfit to the next level. It looks so effortless. My outfit for July 23rd was no different.

Top: This is actually a DIY top. It was originally a long sleeve button up I bought from Old Navy back in 2008. I have not worn this top in years and decided to cut off the sleeve to make it wearable for summer. Another way I wear this top is by unbuttoning the bottom two buttons and tying the bottom material in a knot. The top ends up looking like a cropped shirt.
*I may do a video tutorial on this DIY. Stay tuned!

Amazing Shoes and Other Goodies at Target

I was in Target last week to purchase some hair products and, as always, decided to stop by the shoe section. If you've been following this blog, you already know I LOVE shopping at Target for clothes and shoes from time to time. The quality of their shoes is pretty good for the price.

There were so many amazing shoes there that I had to take pictures of them and share with you all. I also roamed over to the accessories section to see what goodies were over there.
