DIY: Cute Hair accessory

Saturday I didn't feel like being bothered with my hair. I found some fabric I bought a few months ago and thought it would be cute to use it as a hair accessory. I wrapped the fabric around my head, tied it in a knot in the front, and tucked the sides in. I created a simple cute head wrap that took less than five minutes to create.

This to That: Earring to a Necklace (DIY)

When I was in the 9th or 10th grade my mother bought me gold name earrings. I was living in Providence, RI at the time and going through a "all gold everything" phase. I use to wear multiple gold rings on my fingers and multiple necklaces all at once. In 11th grade, this style came with me when I moved to North Carolina. Unfortunately, my senior year of high school someone broke one of the earrings and I lost the other one. I was not able to wear them again.

One day I got the idea to turn my name earring into a necklace similar to my silver "Resee" necklace. I had majority of the material and tools needed to do it already. The only thing I had to buy was the actual chain which I purchased from Michael's Arts and Craft store. The items used were two different jewelry plier tools, 5 jump rings, 2 pieces of the fake gold chain, and latch to close necklace.

DIY: Sweetheart wrap tube top (no sewing)

One day, while sitting on my bed, I randomly got the idea to go to the store and buy some fabric to make a tube top. I headed to Joann Fabrics store to find the materials I wanted to use. I decided to buy cotton fabric because it was the cheapest and easy to care for. I found a zebra striped cotton pattern fabric in grey and pink and a white fabric with a flower pattern (flower pattern not visible in photo).
I've never done this before. This whole process was all trial and error. I asked for the associate at the store to cut 2 yards of the zebra pattern fabric and 4 yards of the white fabric. I was scared this would not be enough. To my surprise, when I got home I discovered I had too much fabric (enough to make 5 more tops). It is better to have more  than enough instead of not enough incase of errors or mistakes.

DIY High-Waisted Shorts

Over the last few years I have found myself loving the idea of taking something old and turning it in to something new and amazing. I get inspired a lot by the things around me like nature, magazines, youtube, and etc. It really gives me a chance to see how creative I can be.

Last month one of my friends from Washington DC was in Durham, NC visiting her father. Since I was only 4 hours away, I decided to come visit her. While I was there we took a trip to the thrift store. My goal was to find myself two pairs of jeans that I can turn into high waisted denim shorts. Luckily, I was able to find a pair of old mom jeans that fit good enough around my waist only for $3. The jeans were so unflattering and ugly but I knew that they could be turned into something special.

Outfit of the Day: July 23

I love putting simple pieces together and adding a bit of flare to take an outfit to the next level. It looks so effortless. My outfit for July 23rd was no different.

Top: This is actually a DIY top. It was originally a long sleeve button up I bought from Old Navy back in 2008. I have not worn this top in years and decided to cut off the sleeve to make it wearable for summer. Another way I wear this top is by unbuttoning the bottom two buttons and tying the bottom material in a knot. The top ends up looking like a cropped shirt.
*I may do a video tutorial on this DIY. Stay tuned!

Amazing Shoes and Other Goodies at Target

I was in Target last week to purchase some hair products and, as always, decided to stop by the shoe section. If you've been following this blog, you already know I LOVE shopping at Target for clothes and shoes from time to time. The quality of their shoes is pretty good for the price.

There were so many amazing shoes there that I had to take pictures of them and share with you all. I also roamed over to the accessories section to see what goodies were over there.

Hauling it...Marshall's! (video)

I am excited to present to you my first official youtube video. I thought I start of my videos with doing a Marshall's haul. I bought a few things from Marshall's for Spring and just wanted to share them with you.

I plan on creating all types of videos but I really want to create videos that focus on topics women are sort of embarrassed to talk about. So stay tuned and enjoy! Don't forget to comment, rate, and subscribe to my youtube channel loveresee.

Style DIY: COLOR BLOCK Bags & Shoes in 30 Minutes

I was looking at my youtube feed and came across and interesting video title about color blocking. I thought this was more of a "How To Style" video but the "DIY" in the title sparked my interest. In the, video Lisa Pullano shows us how to keep up with the color blocking trend without paying a lot of money. After watching the video, you will know how to turn your old plain boring handbags and/or shoes into something extremely amazing, colorful, and bright. I'm AMAZED at how great everything came out!

I am going to think twice before giving some of my old shoes and handbags away. I am going to try this out.

An Eye For a Cat Eye

For the last year (maybe longer) I've been on a hunt for cat-eyed glasses. I searched all over the internet for them but could not find cat eyed glasses similar to the ones Marilyn Monroe use to wear.

In September of 2011, I was in Atlanta for an audition. My friend and I decided to visit Lenox Mall. I thought I would be able to find the glasses I wanted. Unfortunately, none of the stores had cat-eyed glasses. I bought  tortoise framed Wayfarers by Ray Ban instead. I love my Ray Bans but they were just not what I wanted.

One day, while searching on the internet, I stumbled across this sunglasses website. I decided just to look, with no intention of purchasing anything. To my surprise, I saw cat-eyed glasses! The glasses were extremely inexpensive. I wasted no time and purchased 3 different cat eyed glasses.

Below are photos of the glasses I love so much!

Curious about the website? The company is Retro City Sunglasses. The website link is http://retrocitysunglasses.com/. I plan on purchasing the tortoise framed Key Hole glasses once it is back in stock.

What do you think about my cat-eyed glasses?

Target Fashion Find: Sequin Clutch

I am back again with another Target fashion find! If you know me then you know I LOVE sequin on any and everything. I bought this blush color sequin clutch in december for $16.99. This clutch was also available in gold but lately I've been loving blush, rusted, and rose gold colors. I could not resist buying this one. The chain strap was the icing on the cake. This clutch is definitely a beauty!

Below I have pictures of the clutch with and without the flash so you can see how it looks in different lighting.

Are you a Target lover yet? Take some time out and visit the clothing and accessory department of the store. You will be surprised at all the goodies you will find!

Target Fashion Find

I love shopping at Target! I especially love the shoes, bags, and clothes the store has to offer. Some people would never think of shopping in Target for clothes. TRUST ME! It is worth a little bit of your time to go in there and look around. You will be amazed at all of the cute and trendy things the store has to offer.

In either November or December, I was looking around at Target and spotted these cute black flats by the Merona brand in the shoe section.  I can't remember the exact price but I believe they were between $19 to $30. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to purchase them. The metal tip of the shoe is what makes this flat stand out. I also love that sometimes the metal tip shows up silver in some photos and looks like it changed colors other photos.

I have not had a chance to wear and style them with an outfit yet but I think they are something special.

Do you have any Target fashion finds? I have a lot in my closet.
